EUCIP - Professional

EUCIP's Elective Professional level demands advanced competence in a particular role.

The elective level is based on a specialised competence that a Candidate may earn by working through a variety of educational modules and by gaining practical experience. The number of different electives for IT related jobs can be quite varied, with various different skills classification models already in existence. The main goal of the EUCIP Elective Professional level is to provide Candidates with:

  • A choice of different EUCIP job profiles within IT for Certification (“EUCIP Elective Profiles”);
  • A choice of accredited learning elements (“EUCIP Elective Modules”);
  • A professional qualification that recognizes that the Candidatre can act effectively and consistently in their role.
  • An approach to building up to a recognised EUCIP elective job certification

There are currently 21 elective profiles in the professional range as seen on the left.

A pre-requisite of EUCIP's professional level is the successful completion of the EUCIP Core Level.

eSkills Career Quiz

ECDL Foundation has developed an interactive quiz that links important end-user eSkills with typical job roles in the ICT industry, based on the definitions set out in the EUCIP Professional profiles.

The ICT sector is one of the most dynamic and exciting industries that you can enter. Many of the ICT skills, or eSkills, that are used in the industry are specialised and used almost exclusively by ICT professionals. However, all ICT professionals should be competent in a range of end-user skills – for example, spreadsheets and presentations – so that they can perform to their maximum potential.

The following eSkills Career Quiz carries out an assessment of the respondent’s eSkills. The output of the quiz allows the respondent to assess their end user eSkills needs against the EUCIP Professional Profiles to ensure that they have the underlying end user eSkills for their chosen ICT career profile.
